I promised RV progress pictures so here they are. For two days we (my mother and I) have been slaving away at the upholstery projects.
No, I have never upholstered anything before.
No. It is not fun ;-p
But, hey, it isn't boring!
Here's what we've been up to as our deadline of 2 days to hit the road fast approches:
Here we are ripping the old upholstery off of the sofa bed. You can
see Junie Moon being a huge help behind my mother.

It was attached with these heavy duty staples. Lots of dust, rust and degraded upholstery fiber was flying. Fun!

After the upholstery was off it had to be deconstructed, but not before making notes on the pieces to tell me how to use it as a pattern.

Mmm...Pattern making... More Fun! Who ever said you wouldn't need math in real life was lying to you. Kids, you need math!

Once the old pieces were turned into a pattern I was able to use them to begin cutting the new fabric to apply to the sofa. The new velvet zebra sofa.
Which will include black velvet button tufting and red velvet stripe details to hide the necessary seams. ;-)
Nope. No idea what I'm doing!
Why yes, it is a little wild, but I think I've already warned you that we are a little wild.

Then we ran into a little snag: missing tools and materials, so we had to brave the first freezing temperatures of the season and head out to acquire them.
Then the new covers for the dinette were underway.

Maaaaaany hours later two of the four were complete.
This is where I bring you to the 2:45 in the morning part of our story...which is now a bit behind us as we somehow found a second wind and decided to move on to the third cushion.
Here you see a nice view of the disorder created as we sort our few belongings and take over the kitchen to ready ourselves for the road.
See? Fun!
Stay tuned for the next installment, which I swear will include photos of the floor and the like, and...
Here's were we need all the luck, vibes, goodwill you can send!

You don't know me as i'm very new to blogger but i just want to say to you that i really admire what you're planning to do and what you've already achieved. Part of me wishes that i could do it too but i could travel from top to bottom of england in a couple of days! Not too much adventuring to be done there then! Good luck on your marvelous journey, i wish you good times, good health and, of course, safety from harm.
P.S. Zebra print! -WOW!!!
opps, I just posted my last comment to your last post by accident. The new format totally fooled me.
Love the pics!
