Home Sweet Home

We've landed and we are soooooo happy! There just aren't words!! I'm sure they will come to me over the next few days, but right now we are just totally blissed out and loving each moment.

Quinn and Neeka spent their first night in their own bedroom and are positively thrilled. They are also looking forward to bunkbeds which will, it seems, be decorated as a pirate ship and a princess castle, respectively :-)

The full and perfectly set up kitchen is soooo fantastic! Last night Jeff and I made some, beautiful (although, gut-busting) burritos... complete with homemade salsa, guagamole, refried beans and yogurt sauce! Yum!

There's too much swimming in my head and I'm eager to rejoin the family who's getting ready to go for a hike to the pond and watch the stream to scope out the size of the trout.

For more pictures, check out the slideshow on the left! If you can't see it yet, just check back in a few minutes. It takes Picasa awhile...

xoxo

Oh WOW!!! The setting is amazing, the view is stunning and the house is just beautiful. I love the character of the your house with all the little features. It looks like it will be a very happy home!!!

You're very lucky to find such a perfect home.

How near to the nearest neighbour?

Envious isn't the right word...although that's what came to mind ;)
So very happy for you...and seeing the blessings bestowed upon you and yours gives me pause to consider all the blessings we have each day that are just as big and beautiful!
Enjoy :)

I check out your blog from time to time and I'm glad your family is safe and your health is good. But weren't you begging for help just a few weeks ago? Now you seem to have enough cash for this whole spread, and I can't figure out how you came into this by reading backwards. Your posts about needing help appear to have been removed, also. What gives?

We RENT for heaven's sake.
We didn't suddenly stumble into millions of dollars for a land purchase.
Every single penny of donation that we received was used exactly as promised. To move us from the situation we were stuck in and repair our RV enough to get here.

If you read the post you would see that we were stuck in the middle of months long illness preventing sufficient work hours to accumulate income. This was a temporary, unavoidable situation, not some permanent plight.

When I started following your blog, you were adamant about living a possession free lifestyle. I was fascinated how you were giving everything away and dropping out, shunning the homestead style of existence.

So I have to ask, what prompted you to give that up and go back to a house? Is it because you found what you needed and now feel ready to move forward in a new attempt at living on the grid? Or is this a temporary thing for the sake of your kids and forthcoming little one?

I'm just curious, as I hadn't expected you to go back to a house unless it was kicking and screaming. :)

Congratulations! It is beautiful. It is funny how all or nothing things can be to others, they sometimes can't see the in betweens. I'm sure you will have a very happy home and still be able to live the lifestyle you intended to live from the get. One that teaches your children where things come from... the difference between need and want, and being able to bring forth delight without needing commercial stimulation. Good for you! Your blog is lovely. Hang on to that bliss for as long as you can. :)
