In a matter of days we find out if our dream of mountain acreage will come true right now!
We're undeniably excited and counting the days on the calendar.
I'll have more information for you this weekend, I hope!
For right now we are living happily in the forested mountain air, enjoying hikes, picnics, candle-lit dinners, campfires, rock-skipping contests, rushing mountain streams, and lots of new friends.
In town we've been participating in parades, ballet classes, music classes, yoga classes, art workshops, puppet-making workshops and lots and lots of play and playmates. Each day has been so full and so wonderful and so filled with hope too!
Each night and morning we bundle up against the brisk air and then peel off the layers for a little fun in the sun by the afternoon. Near daily, super-short, downpours are keeping everything green and the air a little more hydrated than usual as we learn to acclimate to the super low humidity by upping our water, infusion and oil intakes and nourishing our skin.
I realized, yesterday, that I have not journaled in over a month and have posted very little and have been trying to meditate on this. I definitely miss the feeling I get from writing, but seem to be in one of those quiet spaces again, opting for in-person communication, meditation and just a general quietness and enjoyment of each moment.
Soon, I hope to be writing a flurry of posts and entries about transitioning into the next exciting phase of our lives... gardens, goats, cheese-making, canning... simple abundance... living the dream :-)
Speaking of living... if you haven't checked out Radical Jack's blog Adventures in Voluntary Simplicity, or Ren's Edible Aria lately, they are really rockin', and knocking my socks off!

Wherever you are, it is absolutely beautiful! So serene, so majestic...I can see why you want to stay!
Good luck, and hope you get great news soon!
Lots of crossing of fingers and positive energy sending your way to make this dream come true!
Your house is so beautiful... and... so "you"!!!
I have been following your adventures, and I truly believe even though you are not on the road now, that you are being taken care of, and this is the right place for now. I love your ideas of home steading... It is quite the trend now... and a necessary one... I too am curious as to where you are... It looks so beautiful.
Blessings to you and your family.
