Wow, You're Quiet!

Thursday, December 03, 2009 Edit This 26 Comments »
I can't remember what made me look, but I checked the analytics on this site for the first time in over a year.
Holy Cow, y'all. There are an average of two hundred unique visitors every single day.
Why so quiet?
I didn't even know you where here.
Drop me a line sometime. ;-)

Other interesting facts:

The most popular post (not counting the initial traffic driven by the NYT article because that was just crazy-off-the-charts): The Beauty Love Left Behind
860 visitors in one day... 16 comments...
Who knew?

There are between 6,000 and 10,000 viewers each month.

You've been so quiet!
Your comments mean a lot to me. Drop me a line sometime!
Several of my very, very best friends were met through this site ;-)
Perhaps you are one of them and we don't even know it yet.

xoxo

Okee Doke!

Congratulations on your new baby!

I'm mostly a lurker, but I've really enjoyed reading your blog for almost a year now. I'm so glad things are going so well for you and your family. :)

You inspire me. :)

Yep, I've been reading every post since the NY Times article and it's been a joy. I'm jealous of those beautiful places you inhabit and your family is lovely. I recently shook off the world of cubicles and I'm trying to free my mind and experiences from the clutch of corporate America; in that way your stories give me hope. I have my own nascent blog - mainly a public record of me trying to complete things I've always wanted to do or learn things that I've always wanted to learn. Some of it may bore you (programming, etc) but some might be more interesting (drawing, art). Check it out if you get bored: lifeasclay.wordpress.com

Thanks for the continued inspiration!

Um...I don't have much to say, but I do read your blog regularly. I found it linked from Enchanted Gypsy's blog.
I'm really inspired by the simplifying you've done with your life and I am a little envious. We try to simplify, but still work regular jobs, have a mortgage, etc. We'll keep working on it.

Ooh..I guess I had more to say than I thought! ;)

Congratulations on the new baby! You have a beautiful family.

Hi.
I've been visiting your blog for quite a while and really enjoy reading about the route you and your family have taken.

Congratualations on your new baby.

Congrats on the new baby! I have been following your blog since you posted you were hitting the road on the Austin AP yahoo group.... I really like your dads recipes too : )

I've enjoyed quietly walking amongst your family and enjoying how you see the world... sometimes it seems like making too much noise will disturb the picture... like deer running back into the woods!

Hi! I've only been reading your blog for about a week now, but it's so interesting I spent quite a bit of my work day rolling through back posts! :) I got here via the Walk Slowly Live Wildly blog post where the two of you met up. Your family looked lovely and I wanted to see the inside of your RV!!! We (as in the family community RV, lol) have an old pull behind that we're wanting to fix up and you have really inspired me! We're also on the road to letting things go and I have found one hell of an inspirational person in you :)

Nice to met ya!

Oh, a quick question for you...* I'm a wee bit new to the blog world so forgive me for a newbie question, but just how do I go about putting your blog on my blogroll??? For now I've got it in my favorites and just check periodically :)

Hi, I hve been following your blog since you packed up the few belongings you needed all that time ago. I love to read where you've been, what you've done and wished that I was able to do the same (my husband and son won't though).
You are an inspiration! Congratulations on your beautiful new daughter!
I look forward to reading more of your amazing life!
All my love from England

I adore your writings, your perspective, your peace. I read lazily, happily through google reader and I am unable to make comments through it. xoxo

I'm here and I've been reading for a while. I am horrible at commenting but I will make an effort.
For now I would like to offer you a jiggle and a wiggle.

Hi! I'm still here, still following along with your adventure. I'm so glad to see you've landed where you have, and that you're so happy. There was a time there I was very worried (Chicago!). I love reading your updates and being a small part of your world.

Okay, I admit it...I have been "lurking" too. I found your page through your article on the Wish Studio blog. I was excited that there was another New Mexico girl. I live in Santa Fe, and thought it was cool to see that you were in Taos. Anyway, I have enjoyed peeping into your world. If you ever come to SF or vise versa, we could meet up.

Hi I'm an ex AustinMama - but now back living in SE England. (Have a pipe dream of living somewhere cooler in the US/Canada one day.....) I'm a regular reader of your blog - I'm interested in living more simply and intentional communities - and I find your blog thought-provoking and deeply inspiring. As an ex-midwife, I was also loved reading your's & Simone's birth story. Hope you're still enjoying your babymoon Mama.

Hey Aimee. I'm a fellow AustinMama and have been following your story since I brought you a red tent meal (black bean soup, I think) way back when Nichola was 6 or 9 months or so. I'd love to handknit a little something for Simone, by the way, so send me your snail mail if you feel like it. You can see some of my knits on my blog. Take care, mama!

Yes, I'm a lurker, too! I've been reading about a year now and commenting rarely. I found your blog at MotherTalkers originally.

I'm originally from NM and was excited when you ended up there. I'm now in Idaho where we're trying to balance simplicity/sustainability with having a home & kids.

I blog for myself at http://lizbethsgarden.wordpress.com and for an organization about sustainable practices at http://citizensforsustainability.wordpress.com.

If you ever have a free second I would love to ask questions!! Take care and congrats on the new babe!

Hey, I'm here! I think I've commented once upon a time, but as a rule I'm just glad I have time to read. Apparently I haven't read you long enough to have read that post you referenced. Amazing! A thousand words of strong, true character. I find your life fascinating, and transparent, which is refreshing. Love the name Simone!

I don't remember how I found your blog but it was when you had just finished renovating the motor home and were setting off for grand adventures. I've always fantasized about doing just that so I was living vicariously through you. I've continued to read because I admire the life you and your family are living and I enjoy your writing. I also have a young red haired son named Quinn and two younger daughters so that's pretty neat too. :)

Congrats on the baby and Happy Holidays!

I found your blog from a friends blog. My husband is from Austin and also a techie! The choice your family made to live unattached and travel is something we always thought we would do when we had kids. Then we had kids...and it didn't work out for us that way. We also have 3 kids (the 3rd being kinda a surprise). I love the pictures you post...my family is from Taos, and I have never been. You capture just what I thought it would look like.

Aimee!! You might remember me, you and Quinn came over to my house for an AP playdate once when you were in Austin. You had Quinn with you and another little baby boy, and we all sat in the room with mamas and babies hanging out. I really liked you a lot, and was recently wondering why I never see you on the Austin AP stuff. Wowza, look where you are! How amazing. Your family is beautiful wonderful and I hope the new little one feels better so soon.

How weird, I just looked and it can't be you that came over because it was last year and the Quinn who visited my house was only a year old - and his mama was named Aimee! Crazy. Well, anyway, I'm glad I found the blog, maybe we really will cross paths one day - hubby, babe, and I love to travel - I spent three months one summer living in one all along the west coast - from southern California to Washington.
