"If nothing else, it could give a much-needed boost to local organic farms that sell their wares for higher prices but can promise crops that won't kill your liver."
Sadly, too many in this country can't afford to pay those higher prices...can't afford to even buy much produce at all. This is just one symptom of a very sick system.
So very, very true. It would be nice to see those of us who have the ability to pay for them making the choice of ethically, environmentally, socially responsible food over more "stuff".
For instance, with a family of five, also eating around allergies that allow for no cheap fillers such as grains, we have had to make difficult choices of what we must give up in order to eat/buy within our values.
I was searching the internet for information on Fibromyalgia and found your video on YouTube. I have had it for most of my life, I realize now and thru my research I have found many alternative therapies that I understand others feel may be "out there". Like you, I don't care how crazy it sounds or seems, wanting to be well overrides my concerns with other people's opinions.
I found a suppliment regime via a gal on YouTube that seems to work. Unfortunately, I became a bit too comfortable and let it slide, so here I sit again in more pain than I imagined possible. Needless to say, I am going to get back on track. Reading your Blog will be part of that, as it seems you have a lot of excellent information here.
I also benefit from Reiki treatments... infra-red sauna... and crystal/stone therapy. I didn't believe but was willing to try and am certainly glad I did.
I know you don't have a regime, perse but would you be willing to converse with me, share notes and see if we could help each other? I am particularily interested in any suppliments, herbs and such you are taking. Perhaps, in turn we could help others as it seems we are far from alone.
I don't often Blog anymore, but hope to change that, as well. I hope to hear from you.
I've followed your blog for awhile now and finally felt the urge to comment ... lol. I can always relate to your posts. You speak with such honesty and integrity and I love visiting your spot. I too am constantly trying to downsize and live more simply. Sometimes I tend to really ride myself day and night over the fact that no matter how hard I try, I still feel like we have too much and of course along with that "stuff" comes frustrations and stresses in dealing with that stuff. Energy that could be better spent elsewhere, no doubt with my family. I currently am in the process of getting rid of all of those clothes that we NEVER wear or EVER will wear. Why did I continue to hold on to them for so long??? Sorry for the ramble ... lol. In a nutshell, thanks for keeping it so real :) Peace, Erin http://wildasweeds.blogspot.com/
One little family gives everything to learn the true difference between *want and *need and run free in pursuit of their dreams

About
Cage Free Family
This is our story of our journey to find our true values and apply them to our lives. Watch as we give everything we have to find the fount within.
Watch us change everything about ourselves as we move from the six figure funded ties which bind the American middle class to Cage Free movement toward our true dreams; a farmstead funded healing community in the wild of Vermont.
In this crazy, overcomplicated world where we begin to feel like slaves to our possessions this little family of 6 (1 mom, 1 dad, 2 kids and 200 lbs of dog) made a leap.
We donated all of our belongings and bought a 25 year old RV to hit the road and teach our kids, and ourselves, a thing or two about the differences between *want and need*.
Freedom’s just another word for nothing left to lose, and Nothing isn’t Nothing, Honey, if it ain’t free*
