Ballet, Teething, and Tillers, Oh my!

Quinn and Nichola had their end of year ballet recital last weekend. Two days of dress rehearsals later they had the recital, which I missed because I woke up veeeeeeery sick, fainty, and trembly. They said it went just fine and I'll be able to see the DVD when it comes in in a few weeks.

Neeka was a firefly

Yesterday was another beautifully warm, sunny day, but today we woke up to heavy clouds and snow. Over the first few hours of the day we watched every kind of snow come down and waited for a friend of ours to bring over the tiller that she has been trying to give us. Jeff is going to give it a try and see how it manages. If it can do it, it will be a big help in breaking up the ground where we'd like to plant the corn and potatoes. He figures that if a farm can recover from tilling year after year, then using it to break up the ground this once isn't likely to cause any future harm.

We're just taking it easy. Well, easier. Simone has a nasty runny nose right now, likely from the three molars she's cutting. The days are filled with clinging, fussing, crying and tantrums and the nights are so broken up it hardly feels like sleep. I'm hoping it will be over soon because all of it together is a bit much for jolly spirits.

What I would give for a fat slice of chocolate cake right now ;-)

Oh my goodness, they're SO CUTE. I love dance recitals.

And I see what they mean about Neeka's feet! Thoser are definitely made for pointing.
